Report on Niche Startup Club Screening Event
  • Niche Startup Club – an integral part of M.A.M. College of Engineering organized a State Level Startup contest in its campus on 23.03.2018.
  • Initially the advertisement for the same has been published and sent to across 2000 colleges across tamilnadu which includes both Engineering and Arts & Science streams.
  • The call was made for any innovative project ideas across various sectors like Agriculture, Mechanical, Healthcare, Pharma, Biotechnology, Electronics, IoT, Technology and various other domains. The abstract submission was called for on the above mentioned sectors.
  • There was a huge response for the same and numerous ideas flooded in with variety of contents, likewise the initial submission attracted around 470 papers across tamilnadu, to be said clearly 470 business startup ideas.
  • After a strong Scrutiny process made by the evaluation committee only 8 papers which was found as scopeful was selected and called up for presentation in the M.A.M College venue.
  • These papers were called from colleges like Velammal Institute of Technology, NSN College of Engineering, Karur, Kongu Engineering College, Erode, K. Ramakrishnan college of Engineering etc.
  • The contest was initiated in a grand inaugural event hosted by M.A.M College of Engineering. Respected Secretary of M.A.M College of Engineering Dr. M. A. Mohammed Nizam headed the event and inaugurated along with the Director of the Institution Prof. U. S. Sarvadayaparan and Principal Dr. S. Ravimaran. The review panel constituted of distinguished faculty from prestigious National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli, Dr. S. Raja, Assistant Professor of Electrical Department and Dr. S. Rajaram, Dean from Roever Engineering College, Trichy.
  • Dr. Raja addressed the gathering about the importance of startups in evolving India and the necessity of startups to younger generation. He also cited the awareness that has to be vested in every single youngster to create a formidable and strong society. Dr. Rajaram persisted queried on the ground work for startups and distributed words of encouragement to come out large in number towards startup projects.
  • Dr. M. A. Mohamed Nizam in his presidential address indicated the evolution and idea behind Niche concept and how it was rooted and the purpose stays alive to encourage young minds in large volumes to come out with masterpiece ideas. He also mentioned about the various levels of the contest taking place as the current level is the level 2 screening level and the contest will move on to one more stage which finalizes the 3 top participants who will be rewarded with cash prizes and investor relationships.
  • Dr. S. Ravimaran, Principal welcomed the gathering and Prof. S. Saravanan delivered the vote of thanks.
